A Study of Cement-pipe Bonding
نویسندگان
چکیده
The emphasis placed on bonding with the introduction of Acoustic Cement Bond Logs has led to a study of many of the variables influencing this property, as well as methods for improving bond at the casing-cement interface. Special cementing problems concerning gas storage wells and tubingless completion wells have also indicated the need for better pipe-cement bonding. This presentation stresses some of the problems involved and possible solutions. The application of a resin-sand coating at specific points on the casing will give a greater adhesion at cement-pipe interface. Resistance of the cement-pipe bond to fluid intrusion and loading is greatly increased. Laboratory and field results as well as acoustic logs emphasize the improvement in bonding when a roughness factor is introduced. Comparative bonding data both with and without mill varnish on the pipe are also evaluated.

Punch plastic deformation pipe cladding (PPDPC) as a novel tube cladding method
This study presents a new mechanical tube cladding process named punch plastic deformation pipe cladding (PPDPC) based on local deformation by pressing a punch into the inner layer of the bimetal tube. To investigate the capability of the process, stainless steel tube (as the inner layer) is bonded to a carbon steel pipe (as the outer layer) to fabricate a bimetal pipe. Shear punch tests were u...

To compare the effect of various pipe materials on biofilm formation, surface water was used as the test water source; plastic-based pipe materials (polyvinyl chloride-PVC, unplasticised polyvinyl chloride-UPVC, medium density polyethylene-MDPE) and cement-based pipe materials (cement and asbestos cement) are commonly used in drinking water distribution systems in South Africa as test pipe mate...
متن کاملAn experiment to develop conversion factors to standardise measurements of airborne asbestos.
Various researchers and agencies recommend different conversion factors for different asbestos exposures. The aim of this study was to develop conversion factors from particles per cm3 (p cm(-3)) to fibres per cm3 (f cm(-3)) and from mg m(-3) to f cm(-3). More than 1000 exposure measurements were available in the Slovenian asbestos-cement factory Salonit Anhovo. Three types of measurement of as...
متن کاملEffects of Various Chairside Surface Treatments on Zirconia-Resin Cement Bond Strength
Introduction: Various surface treatments have been used to improve the adhesion of resin cement to zirconia restorations. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of different surface treatments on the bond strength of resin cement to zirconia (Y-TZP) in clinical practice. Methods: thirty square Y-TZP samples were classified into three groups of 10, including group SB (50 µm sandblast...
متن کاملEffects of Mechanical and Chemical Pretreatments of Zirconia or Fiber Posts on Resin Cement Bonding
The bonding strength between resin cement and posts is important for post and core restorations. An important method of improving the bonding strength is the use of various surface pretreatments of the post. In this study, the surfaces of zirconia (fiber) posts were treated by mechanical and/or chemical methods such as sandblasting and silanization. The bonding strength between the zirconia (fi...
